Since 1878

Cartotecnica Rossi S.r.l.

In 1872 a local group of well-to-do individuals established and financed a Company that, under the name of «Cartiera di Arsiero», erected a plant to produce paper with continuous machines in Via Perale.
In 1878, given that there were no buyers interested in acquiring the company, it was offered to Senator Alessandro Rossi, son of Francesco from Schio, owner and director of the well-known wool mills, who advanced the necessary sum to purchase it for his eldest son, Francesco.
Hence Francesco Rossi became the founder and organiser of the current company; his sons Alessandro and Girolamo worked diligently by his side in this intelligent undertaking.

The beginning of the paper mill

From the beginning, the Cartiera has always focused on research and development, specifically in production and in the processing of fine and very fine papers, excelling in quality. Over time, corporate developments led to the creation of Cartotecnica Rossi that, in its own words, can be defined as the inventor of the crepe paper.
Heir to a legacy of nearly 150 years of experience in the world of paper, the company began to produce crepe paper as far back as the 1930s and, thanks to its success story, is today the leading manufacturer in Europe and a point of reference for the production of the best and brightest crepe papers and tissue papers on the market.

the early 1900s

During the early twentieth century, paper manufacturing reached 85,000 quintals per year, while cardboard reached 15,000 quintals. Around 1950 the Cartiera decided to embark on a plan to become highly specialised. To this view, cutting edge continuous machinery was modified and upgraded together with the entire paper processing and finishing departments.

Since 2005

Since 2005, under the leadership and extensive experience of Antonio Sbalchiero, the ex-director of the plant, in the paper industry, and flanked by his sons, Cartotecnica Rossi is present on markets around the globe, representing continuity, manifesting a wealth of experience and professionalism gained over so many years of business, and sustaining further development of its own production.
